The Midhurst Cup

This knockout cup competition is run by the Midhurst Bowls Club and has entries from clubs across Hants, Surrey and West Sussex. Rowledge has been particularly successful in winning this competition in 2018 and 2019 and aim to retain the Cup in 2021 (Covid having prevented the competition in 2020.) The match format is 4 triples, 2 rinks being played over 18 ends at home and 2 rinks away at the same time, the winner being the club with highest aggregate score. The draw and latest results are shown below.

In Round 1 on 28th June Rowledge comprehensively defeated Billingshurst 76-44, winning on all 4 rinks. The players at Billingshurst suffered heavy rain after a sunny start and the match was abandonned after 16 ends, the result standing. Round 2 is to be played against Bognor Regis on Sunday 11th July at 10.30 am.
